Thanks ladies for hosting!!!
This is one of my garage sale finds.
It was only $2.00.
I have one exactly like it that my
8 year old granddaughter wanted for their play house.
So i was glad to find another for her to have.
I kind of wanted to keep the one i had,
even though it is only bathroom clock
at the store.
And I love this, only i wish it was a different color.
I know, you are thinking, well just paint it!!
I just don't know if the detail would come through if i did.
Besides, I wouldn't be able o decided between a sort of patina green,
or what else i would like?
Since it is going in the store,
someone else can decide! =0)
These are my vintage finds.
Vintage tatted doilies.
I just love tatting but would never have
the patience for something so delicate.
They are beautiful, and my first full doily finds.
I have always just found tatting on
pillow cases, or pieces of it that were
just done and not added to anything.
This is a piece you do not see every day.
It is a piece off an old fence.
I found two of them.
They are very delicate in nature,
and I can't even imagine the home they must have decorated.
Hope you have enjoyed today's finds.
Don't forget about Get R Done Friday coming up.
Get R Done Friday
I'd better get something done!!
Blessings on your Thursday everyone.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful finds. I especially love the tatting. So delicate and lovely. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeletewow, Barbara Jean, Gorgeous finds!!!Have a blessed day, Cher
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to have a bunch of tatted doilies...a great-aunt or somebody made them. Of course, they looked kind of out of place on our 1970s furniture!
ReplyDeleteThe fence is really cool!
I've enjoyed your participation in TST; you really find neat things :)
Hi Barbara Jean,
ReplyDeleteI love the tiered rack. If there are grooves in the platters, then I think you could paint it and keep some detail. You could always throw some glaze in the grooves to make the detail show up better.
The iron fence piece is fantastic too. Great find.
I love your doilies. My grandmother and great aunts heavily starched them and placed them on tables throughout the house. Your piece of old fence makes a nice background for your vignette. Good finds! Sue
ReplyDeleteDelightful doilies!Do you use them?
ReplyDeleteOoooo, I love all your pretty things, and that tatting!!! It's just gorgeous. The only tatting I have is on pretty hankies and I just love them. Tatting is so delicate.. and sweet.
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT and have a lovely and safe weekend..
Barbara Jean, I absolutely love the parts that came off of the fence. They look wonderful on the wall. I would say you found some great things that day!
ReplyDeleteHave a great VTT and a wonderful holiday weekend.
I like that clock, and I would love to find some pieces of fence like that! It looks great on the wall!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!!! I like that clock too! And the doilies :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Allison
Great finds. The lace tatting is a lost art, but true treasures. Jackie
ReplyDeleteI just love the idea of using the old fencing for the window. Very clever and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI that clock was in working order that was a "DEAL". I like it in black. It stands out well.
lovely treasures!!..my fav is the old fence..i've got a few old galvanized iron relics in my garden :)
ReplyDeleteLove your stuff!! You found some great ones!! Hugs, Lisa
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I especially liked the tatting (all that work!) and the beautiful piece of fencing. Thanks for sharing! Sandy/rhubarb reign
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love it all -- the clock (how sweet of you to get it for your granddaughter!) and the tatted doilies -- especially that last one!! You scored!
ReplyDeleteMy grandma tried to teach me to tat, but as a teen I wasn't interested. Oh how I wish I had learned. I have a couple of doilies done in tatting but mostly just the edging. Love the rectangular one.
