A mix of vintage thingies and thrifty deals.

Thrifty Thursday

Leigh,
Thanks for hosting

VINTAGE THINGIES THURSDAY

Thanks to Suzanne at Colorado Lady for hosting.

Be sure to go check it all out, and thank our wonderful hostesses.

Welcome to another dual post.

Hope you enjoy what you see today.

In the new room for the store,
i am putting an old desk.
Of course then you need some old things to put on the desk.
So...
how about an...

adding machine...
(still needs to be cleaned but could not wait to show you).

and a typewriter.

This thing weighs a ton!!
And have you ever realized how many
little parts there are to a typewriter.
LOTS!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember those $1.00 boxes from
the yucky warehouse a few posts back?
Well, this is a $1.00 big metal box.
A treasure all it's own, but wait....
it's full of goodies.
Let's see what's in there....
hmmm.
interesting.
Boxes. Several boxes.
Gotta love 'em.
Lots of projects you can do with boxes.
And spindles and legs.
10 large ones in all,
and 8 assorted skinny and medium ones.
I have a use for some of those already.
What else was in there?
Oh, over there on the right.
That black thing, hiding.
It's a metal box with lid on top.
Kind of like old mailboxes, but it's not.
There is a little old metal picture frame,
and if you look closely.
Upon the top of the boxes,
is the bottom of something.
Lots of unique things show up in these boxes.
Now, there is only one thing better than a $1.00 box.
And all this was in a free box!!
You got it right. FREE!!
( no comments about 4 more frames please.
after all, they were free.)
Also, a clear glass vintage pitcher,
an old box,
a creamer, pewter salt shaker,
2 vintage bowls,
and some books.
Our friends had an estate sale, and out of what
was left she let me choose things for the store.
It is amazing the number of great treasures
the Lord has blessed us with for the store.
And how nice people are,
and how they want to help a small business keep going.
Blessings to all of you
barbara jean
  4. It's good you have a place to put all this stuff. I have to be a lot more selective in what I bring home. I probably would bring home the spindles, but the other stuff is too bulky for me.
  9. Yes, it is heavy!!
    Bout killed myself off just moving it from work area to a decent place to photo it. =)
    In process, towel it was sitting on, along with everything else on the towel, got dropped on the floor. A bunch of my big rusty old nails went in the trash. Of course you know i had to dig them out. =0)
    thanks for coming by.
