I am reposting this as a favorite for Funky Junk Interiors Party
Not to late to join the fun and enter the giveaways!!
I"M SO EXCITED!!!
My friend Tam, at The Gypsy's Corner,
is graciously letting me guest host for 3 weeks while she is gone.
In addition to the regular and wonderful
Three or more Tuesday posts,
CHALLENGE
I loved this challenge.
It made me get in there and do something
with a few of those frames I have.
I also used some of the other abundance of 'treasures' I have around.
Thank you, Denise Marie at Bloomin', for challenging me!!
(I actually have 6 things done now and still working on them).
Hope you'll let me show them all to you.
This week I will show you one of the first projects I finished.
And will give you some rather unique ideas
for ways to use frames you might not have thought of.
OK. This isn't really anything out of the ordinary,
but was fun to do anyway, and easy.
supplies you'll need:.
hammer, sponge brush, frame, paint, stain, glue, scissors
music, or dictionary page or paper of your choice.
Here is the frame painted ivory,
and stained to look old.
The hammer was to beat it up and make it more rustic looking.
I glued the glass back into the frame.
The paper has been glued
to a piece of cardboard,
and is just glued into the frame.
These are the things i chose to put on my frame.
Notice I said 'on', not 'in'.
That's because we are going to use this as a mini tray,
and not a frame to hang.
(how ordinary would that be?) =0)
So, here it is finished:
I simply put a bit of fabric down,
poured in a pile of sand,
stenciled some 'beach' rocks*.
Dribbled some shells around,
and added a starfish, and a hand-made postcard.
I added this to my Beach display at the store.
So, that was just an easy project and I love it!!
You can use this mini try for many things.
You could use it for little bathroom treasures,
or as a little tea set holder.
Think about things you would usually just sit on a table,
and sit them on your tray first.
We'd love to hear your ideas!!
(You know I will be putting a bird nest on it soon). =0)

Ornate Frame Tray
I did this more ornate frame tray with a piece
of lace under the glass.
(I made the lace look old with tea stain.)
You can use it as a back drop for a vignette....
or a fancier vignette....
Or as a simple but elegant tray.....
or as a tray with a fancy vignette on it.
I try to surprise people with a fun back on things too,
even if it is just a dictionary page or music.
Don't ya' just love this one??
OK, There you go, 2 projects done with the frames.
Notice the feet we added?
They are drawer pulls.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK, now some details for you.
Should you decide to take this assignment....
Let us know you are joining in by leaving a comment.
(that encourages us and makes you more committed.). =0)
Choose a project, then next week show us what you did and how.
You can choose to do it one week, or all three.
The whole idea is that we get in there and get some things done!!
And then we get the fun of sharing our ideas with others.
Blessings on your week, and your projects!!
The elegant serving tray is my favorite. It's wonderfully versatile. Isn't it fun when you find those treasures to repurpose. I've got some bottles that I thought were too beautiful to recycle, so I'm giving them a new look to fit their new purpose. I'm hoping to have them posted by Tuesday.
