Close up with leaves around them.
Here is another find.
Not so thrifty, but I loved it.
It's only about 12x15"....
and pretty clean inside.
And I got this.
Anyone know what it is or what it was used for?
On the end it says:
"The Delta Metal Co."
"Christchurch"
Anyone know where Christchurch is?
Sounds familiar, but have no clue where from.
OK folks. That's it for today.
Blessings

I collect old luggage. Love your find. The other find is interesting.
ReplyDeleteLet us know if you find out what it was used for. Blessings, sandi
I don't know what it was originally for, but I use my pan like that to sort my buttons! Nice finds!
ReplyDeleteLove those candlesticks. Christs Church, hmmm....maybe someone will know.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara Jean!
ReplyDeleteChristchurch is in New Zealand.
the pan looks to be a baking pan for making small loves of bread or cakes..
have a wonderful Sunday!

Oh a suitcase! Love it! My weakness - I just posted about one last week.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! They are both wonderful. Love the gourds/pumpkins on the candlesticks.

Love the candlesticks, they are wonderful. The tray looks like a bread baking tray for individual loaves. Not sure though. Great finds. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLove old suite cases. Your mantle is looking very fallish!
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
deb :)
New Zealand?
ReplyDeleteI have seen that small bread loaf looking pan on another blog, but cannot remember what it was used for. I do have a blogging friend here, http://www.deb-robertson.blogspot.com/, that is from Christ Church, New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteShe may be able to help you. Her name is Deb Robertson and she's a doll.
Hi Barbara Jean,
ReplyDeleteYour last item is from Christchurch here in New Zealand and it is a 'gem iron' used to make little tiny loaf shaped cakes. Most popular is the recipe for 'ginger gems'.
Mum used to make gems when I was little.
That gem iron you found is a long way from home, lol!

There are probably loads of Christchurchs, but the one which immediately sprang to mind was Christchurch, New Zealand. And I am pretty sure that lovely old object is a baking tin/tray, probably for little cakes or bread rolls.
ReplyDeleteBarbara Jean ~
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome finds !
I love old luggage and
really love the pockets for
all of the wonderful pocket
creations that I am seeing on

Yep I was going to say baking small loaves of bread. Love the suitcase!!
ReplyDeleteHi, my comment disappeared. The try is called a gem tray, very well known here in little old New Zeland which is where Cjristchurch is. In the south island to be precise and they have just recently suffered a very severe earthquake. Most we use the gem trya to make ginder gem, little sweet muffin type things, best eaten buttered and warm and on the day you make them. Hope this helps

Love, love, love the candlesticks. And the luggage. The metal thingy is quite interesting. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Looks like fall in your place! I hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lisa
Love your luggage--so much to do with these cases--I have lots, too! Your candlesticks look great... like little pumpkins on top!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara,
ReplyDeleteI'm in New Zealand and I have one of those trays. Its called a "Wagner gem pan". They are a small cake pan. Christchurch is certainly in New Zealand and the Delta metal company is now Delta die casting. It has moved operation to Wellington.
Cheers and regards
Luke
Thanks Luke! Fun to find out for sure about things. It did not take long to sell. That post is 10 years old!
