Nuts? and Nests

Am I nuts, or is this really cool??

I bought one of those domed clocks,
all bright an shiny new, to use the glass for a cloche.
Then I took the clock all apart,
(a fun adventure in itself),
and got to all these gears and that back piece
(the square piece on the right.)
Of course all were just new and shiny, and nice. Too nice for me.
And the clock face, though cute, again, was just not me.
So I rusted the whole works!!
And I LOVE how they turned out!

What do you think? Like them?
Or am I nuts?

hugs and blessings from rustland,

barbara jean

Oh almost forgot to show you these:
Nests, in the rough.
These are nests I have made but have not added my touch yet.
Love this one. About 5" across.
I may not add anything to this one. It is pretty cool just on it's own.

  1. I love how the clock pieces turned out with your "rusting" affects. I don't know if I would have thought to do that - I will have to keep that in mind when I am out perusing :-)
    As always, love your nests!

  8. Fun stuff, girl! I need to try to make some nests this spring. I need a few here and there. I keep the ones that fall out of the tree, but they are few and far between.
Hope you are having a great day!

  21. I love how your 'clock bits' turned out. What are you going to do with them.
I also love your collection of nests. I am fascinated with nest construction and whenever I find one blown out of a tree try to preserve it but alas something always happens and it gets ruined. Your collection looks sort-of achaelogical:)
