Old Glasses

I love old wire rimmed glasses,
but, they are hard to find, for a price I am willing to pay.

Years ago, I made miniatures.
The picutre above is one of the little tiny glasses I made.
They are only about 1" across. no glass, but who would notice..
So I thought, why can't I do that only larger?

So I did.
And here they are in a vignette.

(Did not cut enough wire, so no ear pieces.)
But I have seen real ones that did not have any either.

If you saw these in a vignette and did not know
they were not real, would you notice?

And how about a silver pair?
And, did you notice that perfect leaf skeleton
in front of the letters?
My sweet fella found it while out walking.

Here is a close up of the glasses
Not perfect, but I'm working on it. =)
If there is interest I will do a little tutorial on it.

Blessings to you all.

  2. I love your little glasses. The mini ones are to die for..big ones cute too. I also did miniatures for years and years..I've had a bunch of houses, cuz one wasn't enough..what was I thinking? Now, I dismantled my (one) house and made some shadow boxes and the header on my blog is a tall cabinet that I "altered"...cuz we're into altering now. Hee My header on my blog is a picture of the top shelf of the cabinet with a bunch of minis. Since you are a mini person I thought you might enjoy looking at what I did. And, there are three more rooms below this top shelf. It's just all fun, isn't it? Have a happy day.

  6. Aren't they adorable! They remind me of my great grandfather Jerry. I don't think he ever looked through his glasses as he would always have his neck down and peer at us over the glasses...lol!

I would love to see how you made them.
