Thrifty Mom's Day Ideas, and Cutin' The Place Up

Thrifty is usin' what ya' have,
to make cute!!
From this $8.00 garage sale find....

To this.
What a change a can of spray paint can make.

I used a piece of wood I had for the table top,
and the table cloth is a twin sheet
with a ruffle on top.

base $8.00
spray paint $4.00
sheet $3.00

Total cost: $15.00

Here is an idea or two for Mother's Day.

Take any little box and decorate it with paper and a bow.

Inside put a special note,
certificate for a treat, or any other little thing your Mom will cherish.
My daughter gave me this one a few years ago.
I loved the trip out to buy a plant,
but even more, i love just having the box with the note in it.

Another idea:

Use one of these tiny matchboxes and put in a favorite verse,
poem, or memory.
You could put in a little pin, or even a small vintage button.
A note that says,
"When you see this, remember I love you."
Or even just the word "Remember".

Believe, me, it is the thought that counts.
She will open the box over and over to see the token of your love.

Or do one of these little jars,
and instead of scripture
put in favorite memories,
things you admire about your Mom,
or even "Pearls of Wisdom" from her.
She can open the jar and look at it later.
(don't have a jar?
Use a little box instead)

Or, how about a bunch of roses
that will never die.

These are my mini tea bag roses.
(tutorial here)

I'm joining all these wonderful hostesses for special days this week.

Blessings
