Valetine Vignettes, and Another Nest Treasure

Fugal Decorating

You do not need to have all Valentine things to do a cute vignette.
Just gather up some reds, and display them together.

Unrelated red times blend together because of matching color.
One little heart makes it a Valentine Vignette.

Just throw a heart into this Pink dispaly,
and it becomes Valentine Vignette.
(pink heart to come) =0)

What I made for today.
A new bird nest treasure.

Frugal Shopping:

$ Tree specials.
Spool of ribbon- 5 yards for $1.00.
Bag of foam stick ons for the kids to do cards.

Cute cards,

and goody bags.

Love that red heart and red ribbon with fringe.

Spools of 2" wired ribbon, 3 yards for $1.00

My Victory was getting help figuring out my inventory system.
I think I may even understand it now.
(thanks Debbie) =0)

I also, finished 4 art treasures (posted earlier this week)
started a tea bag rose tutorial
(coming Monday)
took some inventory
went to two meetings
took 2 naps
emailed friends
blogged every day
hung out with my parents
and took our grand kids to yogurt!
(and probably a bunch more I'm tooo tired to remember!)
A very productive week!!

Thrifty Treasures, Sweet Valentines and other Delights

A thrifty find for display at the store:
$1.79
Will be cute wiht old bottles or sewing treasures in it.

Vintage metal suitcase.

Any guesses what i will be doing with the inside?
Those of you who visit me all the time will know. =0)

Here are some little red Valentines I'm working on.

And this is an easy way to jazz them up.
Make a litle pocket to put them in.

take a square paper doily and fold sides in as shown.
(a bit of an angle, Kind of see where they need to
be so center will fold up and cover them.

Then fold middle up, and glue onto side pieces.
You can use hot glue, glue stick. or those roll on tape glues.

Tuck in alittle Valentine, add words, a bow, little jewelry etc.
This one is not done. She gets a little heart or bow,
and i usually spray them all with fine glitter.
(sorry for blurry)

this can be done with a round, or heart shaped doily too,
or even lace.
I saw this idea last year in blogland but sorry i do not remember where.

(and don't miss out on the tutorials on my side bar.
making nests, and making a vintage baby shoe.)

Some outdoor colors popping out.
A few crocus...

Primroses, wilty, but color none the less.
(we'll take all we can get on gloomy Oregon rainy days.)

And a winter Pansy starting to bloom.

A little cream vignette.

And some cream I need help with.

I made this, and it needs something....

Then I made this....

And here they are together....
I like it, but think it is too much for the purse.
Maybe just a piece of jewelry instead?

What do you think? Be honest. =0)

and penny pinching....

is using old tea bags to make roses.
Tutorial almost done.

see them on the corners?

(and don't miss out on the tutorials on my side bar.
making nests, and making a vintage baby shoe.)

Treasures and Second Time Around Cupcakes

Here is some of my talent for Talented Tuesday.
My first time to join in there.

Here is a close up.
It is 1 Cor. 13 verses on Love,
done up with a vintage music frame, and my little tea bag roses.
(tutorial on it's way.)

and here are some other ideas.

Here is a bit of my husbands talent.

3 or More, second time around cupcakes

This is my sweet fella.

Yesterday for our life Group meeting that night,
he made cupcakes, and even made the frosting and frosted them!
He thought the frosting tasted funny.
I tried a bit off the side of the bowl; tasted fine to me.

We took them to Life Group.

When we got home Scott said he kept having an after taste of the cupcakes.
He thinks maybe the oil he used was rancid.
I only had a half bite of one, so I did not notice it.
Of course all at Life Group said they were good.
(wonder how they felt later?)

When I opened up the fire this morning, I saw this.
I hollered at Scott.
"Hon, Did you throw those cupcakes in the fire???"

YEP! He surely had, and they made great fire starter!!
(it was interesting. They actually burn down to be hard like charcoal)

Can you tell what this is??
Yes, it is one of the cupcakes!
That is the cream cheese frosting bubbling and turning brown.

He started to put more in.

I told him,
"Don't waste the frosting!"
so he licked off the frosting....

Then put them in the fire.

The house was toasty warm in no time.

And that is how we live,
waste not, want not. =0)
And don't you just love that my sweet fella would pose for pics,
so I could tell you this funny story?

Thanks for coming by.

Almost forgot,

Here is a little tweet picture Brenda @ Dragonfly Lady

sent me of a Friends Collage she did.

It is a take off of mine that she made for a very special friend.

Love that she added a bird!

How did I not think of that??

Thanks for sharing Brenda.
