New Nests

 Yes, I am making nests again,
but not ordinary nests.
These are succulent nests.

  Here is one in a little cabinet display at the shop.

  another one. each uniquely different.

 These are all sold, but I am making mroe.
local sales only due to being fragile for shipping.
(as in it would get dirt everywhere.) =)

Loving Whites, from the past

Here are a few of the little things I love.... from old posts.
little baby shoes, old buttons, and some of my tea bag roses.

And here is a finished baby shoe filled with tea bag roses.
You can also use baby shoes for nests...
(this link also has how to age a baby shoe.)

Here is some tea stained paper.
Tutorial HERE.

These are some bird nests my students made.
I wil be teaching more classes on these as it gets warmer outside.
So much easier outside....so messy. =)

This is a vignette of one of my hand created pin cushions using a candle holder,

(see the buttons in the bottom?)
and a bit of lace, with some baby shoes.

Rusty Dusty Thrifty Finds..and a Nest

 First of my rusty, dusty finds....
this old can. It is about 1' tall, but not sure what it is for.
anyone know?? An oil can maybe??
 Here are 3 'new' pocket watches.
That one on the right is just an empty case,
but love the rust and bit of patina.
 This one almost looks like the gears have melted together...
in a very cool way.
(click to enlarge)
 Look at this awesome patina on this one!!
and if you look close...
you can see one little hand on it.
even the backs are cool

 Here is my new nest.
It is in a camera or lens case.
Not sure which.

 It can stand, or hang up....
 or lay down. This is my fave right now.
Till it is gone, and I have a new fave. =)

Just This & That: Pleasures to My Eyes

 No.....Time. Or not enough time anyway..
to do all the things in life we need, and want to do.
 So I am just taking a break....
 and enjoying some things you may or may not have seen before....

 but that I love.
 Like this, part of a sewing machine I dis-assembled.
Be sure to click on it, then hit view image, and it will get bigger.
A new little bird nest in a small leather coin purse.
SOLD

A new nest in a dish with 2 little birdies.
SOLD
And my latest 'Remember' sign.
Hand stenciled on vintage song sheets.
"Remember' is a speical word to me.
Remember all Jesus has done for me.
Remember the Father watches over me.
He provides all my needs.
He understands me....and so much more.

These are all little treasures I have in my store,
but I get to enjoy them till they find a new home. =)

Blue Birdie Nest

Another new nest.
 Found this little vintage coin purse.
Dark green on outside and pretty blue on inside.
(Not as bright as it looks in photo)

Put in one my little hand made nests....
filled it inside and out with cottonwood fluff, a feather,
cheesecloth, a bit of vintage doily.....
and a sweet little blue birdie.
Even some 'hand made by me' eggs in this one. =)

and a little sign if you want.
We really should, after all, celebrate life and all the
goodness the Lord has blessed us with. =)
```````````````````````````````
a fun idea (sideways, sorry)
This is the lid to and old coffee pot (or other something)
Doesn't it make a unique frame??
and anyone know what these are?
I think maybe they go on antique canning jars to hold the lid on?
Thanks for coming by.
New Nest in a coin purse.
I like to use what I have found to put my bird nests in.
This week it is Vintage coin purses.
that is cottonwood in the nest and around it.
And see the little birdie??
Someone came into the store and bought it 15 minutes after I had made it!
Gotta love that. =)
Nuts? and Nests
Am I nuts, or is this really cool??
I bought one of those domed clocks,
all bright an shiny new, to use the glass for a cloche.
Then I took the clock all apart,
(a fun adventure in itself),
and got to all these gears and that back piece
(the square piece on the right.)
Of course all were just new and shiny, and nice. Too nice for me.
And the clock face, though cute, again, was just not me.
So I rusted the whole works!!
And I LOVE how they turned out!
What do you think? Like them?
Or am I nuts?
hugs and blessings from rustland,
barbara jean
Oh almost forgot to show you these:
Nests, in the rough.
These are nests I have made but have not added my touch yet.
Love this one. About 5" across.
Click to see details.
I may not add anything to this one. It is pretty cool just on it's own.
