Many Thanks!!

Many Thanks to Mary at Isabella's Closet, (http://www.flickr.com/photos/isabellascloset)
for the beautiful banner, and all the time and help to get it on my blogs.

This is a wonderful place for you bloggers to get a very affordable blog banner if you'd like to "jazz up" your life a little.
Mary is great!! She has banners already done, or she will custom make one for you. This banner was only $10.00!!!! And, she and I emailed back and forth many times to get it on here. She is very patient (and needed to be because I am so computer lacking).

So, thanks again Mary. God's blessings to you as you continue to share your gifts with others.

Treasures!!

I just picked up this lovely tea set a week ago.
It is a small set, with beautiful rose detailing on it.
Wasn't planning on posting tonight, so don't have the name of it off hand.
It is a 10 piece set for only $25.

Below is a beautiful tea cozy my friend Sue made. It is out of a vintage embroidered pillow case, and it's only $16!! She has several others at the store in an assortment of lovely vintage fabrics.

All for now. Hope to see you soon.

New Photos!!!

This is what you see when you first walk in the door. Can you tell I love pink?
In front of the pink children's' cupboard is a shabby sewing machine cabinet made into a lovely table. I'll use it for display till someone wants to take it home.

This is a vintage radio cabinet from the 50's. I love the carving on it, and I will use it for display till it sells.

Only $95!!

OK. We are having fun with this new camera now!!

This is an antique secretary that was my husband's grandmothers. Isn't it beautiful?!
We are not ready to part with it, but doesn't it make a lovely display for glassware.
All for now.
This thing may be upside down and sideways, but we are learning.
I will be having things for sale on this site, but not set up for pay pal or credit cards yet.
You can call or email if interested in anything.
Thanks for coming by.

NEW ROOM OPEN!

Last Friday the new room opened!! Finally!

It looks great, and still more to add.
One side of the room is rustic kitchen, and lots of it. Vintage tinware, cast iron molds, and tea pots, an old ironing board, chickens (I still love chickens!). There are watermelon dishes, and pansy dishes, and vintage snack sets, old silverware, and cook books. And more!!

On the other side of the room is my pink area. I'm not sure how I get started liking things, but it just happens. I've been picking up dress up hats, and purses, doll furniture, and lots of cute little perfume bottles.
I refurbished a vintage vanity. You know the kind where the little arms pull open to reveal a drawer behind the skirt of the vanity? And the skirt is pink flowers (or course) but with a delightful black stripe in it. I covered a cute little stool to go with it.

I know what you are "where are the photos?!"

Coming soon! Promise!

Oh, Fall decor will be up soon. Stop by for a look.

See you there! =0))

New Camera!!

Yes, we finally got a new camera. That means very soon I will be able to post more photos of the store. YAY!! (that is after i figure out how to do that.) =0/

We have also been making great headway on the new room to open. Rustic kitchen on one side, and girly pink on the other side.

Right now I am working on new business cards. Wow! I had no idea there would be so many decisions when we opened the store. But, I am still having a great time finding wonderful "treasures", and learning from all the different new challenges.

So, I'll hang in there if you will.
See you soon.

Jackpot!!!

Boy did I hit the jackpot Wednesday!!!
I found a great little display piece, cute things for the "girly, girly, pretty in pink" area, some beautiful rose dishes (love roses in case you haven't guessed), and some pieces to make wonderful Christmas or Fall swags with, (very unique. You wont' want to miss these!).

OK, I know you all must be tired of hearing about these things, and can't see them!!
Any day now I'm going to get a camera, and make up for lost time.
The problem is, I know nothing about cameras, so have no clue what to get. It must be easy to use, zoom enough to get good pictures of my treasures, and not over the top price wise. Oh, I guess something about memory, or disc or something too. (told you I didn't know anything).

Update on website: Still trying to figure the whole thing out. Waiting for a couple of people who said they would help me, to get back from vacation. These are total strangers!! Can you believe that? Willingness to help someone they have only talked to via email. Gotta love it!

All for now my cottage and crafting friends. Hey, that's an idea. Maybe while I'm in limbo here, I'll write up directions for some little craft. Then when I get a camera I can post the photo and directions for a fun project. I like it. What do you think? I'll either post it here, or on my other blog. (www.barbstreasures.com)

Have a wonderful weekend.
