Fun Finds.....

 OK, here they are.
A few finds from big garage sale yesterday.
My first fishing reel for the store.
Know nothing about them, this one just
caught my eye.
And that black thing to left of it??
They told me it is for knocking the hot coals off
partly burnt wood in the stove.
another little sewing treasure box....some scissors
(no clue what they are for)
And a book of 25 old, unused New York postcards.

found another old copper syrup warmer.
Just sold the last one, so great timing.

a bucket of blocks and toys.

and last, but most fun maybe, is this box of sewing stuff.
Cannot wait to open it up and check it out.

Thanks for coming by.
More tomorrow.

blessings and happy Monday

Old Metal Love

I fell in love with this old waffle iron......
 call me crazy, I know.
but look at those cute little legs....
and a little display. I like it!!
A little more old metal for you....
 rusty, dusty, crusty old level.
and it works!!
And here are some mystery pics for you.
Can you tell what these parts are to??
 More fun tomorrow. =)

Tool Time Tuesday

I have a fondness for old tools.
Not sure why. Maybe it is the rust...
or just the way they all age so beautifully,
or maybe just knowing they have been
used for years to make so many wonderful treasures.
This is like my grandfather's carpenter's measure.
At least I think that is what it's called.
 This is an old tri-square.
I even have one of these I use myself.
but these are in the store. No rulers, just the ornate level part.
I just found a few of them.....
and... thinking outside the box of course....
 how about bookends???
or, if I had a heart, I mean a wood heart,
I could sit it right there in the middle of them.
By the way, did you see the hearts in them??
Turn your heads sideways if you are having trouble.
of, how about a photo holder.
You know we can always use those.
I will need help here.
I think the guy said it was an 'area' measure, or 'acre' measure.
Not sure which.
It has a metal band, about 1/4": wide.
anyway, it is really cool, and old and rusty and all.
You know it had to come home with me. =)

WOOHOO!! RUST!!

Oh do I love rust.
I shop for rust
I try to surround myself with rust.
Just check out this cool rusty lantern.

And guess who is having a rust party this very weekend?
Donna,
at Funky Junk Interiors

So I gathered up some of my rusty pieces,
and I'm sharing them with you all.
(mind you, this is only a small sampling!)

Love the green color on this milk can,
and rust too?
What more could a girl want?

And here is a rusty scale.
Now to find a bucket for it.

oooh. coraly pink. rust. old. Heavenly!

Oh, and must have some rusty keys and locks for my art.

rusty hinge....

rusty box....

rusty garden tools.
These are getting harder to find now.
I have a whole box full of rusty hinges, and bracket.
Sparing you and just showing a sampling. =)

rusty pieces of fence for a project.

A big rusty bug
(cause it rains a lot in Oregon) =)

rusty scissors.
Oh, and more rusty hinges, Also
threw in a couple of things I rusted, and look at the patina on them.
Patina, and rust. The perfect combo.

Thanks for letting me show you my rust.
Now go on over and see all the other rusty stuff at Donna's.

Have a super weekend!!
