Some Simple Silver

Silver Sunday Starts Soon!

Don't have much to share today,
but I took a pic cause I wanted to play.

A tarnished lid on a button jar,
some sliver spoons from very far.

Some scissors, and an old watch face,
and a beautiful piece of white lace.

(no the lace is not silver,
but needed to rhyme something!!) =)

Please go check out all the wonderful silver pics at Gypsy Fish,
and have super day.
Special blessings to all you Mom's!

Oh, thanks to those who helped me find her, and,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

I'm looking for a blogger!! I found her!! more coming soon!!!

some sweetness for you from my store

A couple of days ago I was featured at Gails,

My Reposed Life.

My Repurposed Life

(thank you Gail.)

I had a new visitor from there, and now I cannot find her.

She had a blog chock full of wonderfully creative ideas,
and I want to pass her name along to you,
but, I cannot find her again. (I clean all my files every night).
I've gone through my comments, but still cannot find her.

I left tons of comments on her blog, cause i loved it all so much.
( my arm aches because i could not drag myself away late last night.) =/

One idea that was just too cute was just a red tool box, with flowers in it, with a scrolly shelf bracket, attached to a fence.
(Yes, we have all seen flowers in a tool box before, but it was just too cute with those brackets.)
Her whole blog was filled with sweet things like that!

So, my new friend, with all the too cute things, please email me with your blog address!!!

Blessings everyone

Barbara Jean

PS Gail, my apologies for the small type on your name.
No matter what i did it would not change the size!!

Sweet and Simple Gift for Mom

This is what I made for my Mom who has everything.

It is just a simple bookmark.

On one side is her favorite poem, Trees, by Joyce Kilmer.

On the other, Ps 23, her favorite Bible chapter.

This works great. A token of my love for her,
and something that does not take up much room as they are downsizing.

Many Blessings to all you Mom's out there.

Hugs and smiles,

barbara jean

Thrifty Mom's Day Ideas, and Cutin' The Place Up

Thrifty is usin' what ya' have,
to make cute!!
From this $8.00 garage sale find....

To this.
What a change a can of spray paint can make.

I used a piece of wood I had for the table top,
and the table cloth is a twin sheet
with a ruffle on top.

base $8.00
spray paint $4.00
sheet $3.00

Total cost: $15.00

Here is an idea or two for Mother's Day.

Take any little box and decorate it with paper and a bow.

Inside put a special note,
certificate for a treat, or any other little thing your Mom will cherish.
My daughter gave me this one a few years ago.
I loved the trip out to buy a plant,
but even more, i love just having the box with the note in it.

Another idea:

Use one of these tiny matchboxes and put in a favorite verse,
poem, or memory.
You could put in a little pin, or even a small vintage button.
A note that says,
"When you see this, remember I love you."
Or even just the word "Remember".

Believe, me, it is the thought that counts.
She will open the box over and over to see the token of your love.

Or do one of these little jars,
and instead of scripture
put in favorite memories,
things you admire about your Mom,
or even "Pearls of Wisdom" from her.
She can open the jar and look at it later.
(don't have a jar?
Use a little box instead)

Or, how about a bunch of roses
that will never die.

These are my mini tea bag roses.
(tutorial here)

I'm joining all these wonderful hostesses for special days this week.

Blessings

My Outdoor Adventure

I went for a long drive in the country last weekend.
I was going to get an old wheelbarrow I saw in an ad.

Beautiful day.
Loved seeing all of nature on the way.

Beautiful flowers...

Ducks in a pond...
Such an enjoyable and peaceful time.

When I got to the long road out in the country where the wheelbarrow was,
I stopped to look at something, and much to my surprise,
they was a bear along side the road!
It was about 5' tall! Big brown bear up on it's hind legs!

I have never seen one so close.
It was about 6' from my car.

Well of course I had my camera with me. I take it with me everywhere I go.

I sat and debated for a minute. Did I dare get out of the car to take a closer look?
To get a great picture?

The bear did not seem to be at all alarmed,
or even caring I was there.

So I decided to do it.
To get out.
To risk it all to get this great shot.

I walked up within 4' of the bear.
I kind of came up by it's side.
and then it happened!

I got it!
The best shot ever of a close up of a bear!

Then I walked around right in front of him.
And here he is.
A bear holding a mailbox.Isn't he the cutest mailbox holder you have ever seen?

And that is my outdoor Wednesday adventure today.

Have any outdoor adventures of your own?

A Fun Adventure!

We are having a new adventure at the store.

It's getting closer every day.
Been showing you pictures along the way.

We're putting up walls,
laying new floor, sanding off that sticky door.

Painting steps,
we're not done yet.

A table here, and few chairs there.
Tea pots chosen with much care.
Getting ready.
Will you be there??

I've painted chairs, gave them new seats.
Thursdays coming, did you get the treats?

We've moved some things,
added a new room.

Hope you'll come and see us soon!

Come back soon to see all the happenings and changes.
