Quick Post and a Treat for You

LinkSince my back hurts too much to move furniture, I did a little crafting, and finished 6 Ps 139 jars yesterday and today.
My friend Vicky, at Granny's Attic, (she makes her own sweet jars) wanted to order one.
So, Vicky, and the rest of you too, here they are.
Chose which one (or ones) you want Vicky, and the rest are up for grabs. ($8.00 includes U.S. shipping).
These are all vintage jars, filled with sand, with Ps 139:17,18 printed on them. Vintage buttons made into lids, and simple trim. I think the Word itself should be the focus.

I have pics ready for the tutorial, just have to limit my time sitting here as it kills my arm and shoulder right now. I am hoping for Tuesday and join in on Tutorial Tuesday!!

Thanks for all your notes, sweet comments, and prayers. I am TRYING to rest and get over this! I have more furniture to move and a room to finish! =)

Taking a Brief Break =(

I am sad to say I will need to take a break (only brief I hope).

I have two herniated discs in my neck, and they are giving me fits right now
Too much furniture moving I guess.
Please pray for my neck, shoulders, and back.

Hope some bunny will miss me....

And send me some hugs and smiles.

Blessings

Stress Management Help

me/2010
I'm sharing this from my sweet friend at Tootsie Time. (thanks girl!!)
(Be sure to go visit. She has a really sweet blog with a lot of gardening tips and ideas and beautiful pictures.)

This is a brief, but I thought very helpful article on stress.

Stress…

When this came to my attention, it really hit home. I am sharing today as I know it will touch some of you as well.

Stress
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked;
'How heavy is this glass of water?'
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.'
He continued,
'And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
As the burden becomes increasingly heavy,
We won't be able to carry on. '
'As with the glass of water,
You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.'
'So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
Let them down for a moment if you can.'
So, my friend, Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while.
Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
And some days you're the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet,
Just in case you have to eat them.
* Always wear stuff that will make you look good
If you die in the middle of it.
* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be
"recalled" by their maker.
* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again,
It was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
Because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.
* When everything's coming your way,
You're in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you.
The more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world,
But you may also be the world to one person.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons...Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today..

hope this is helpful. love and blessings

Chair redo, thrifty tip, and blue find

thrifty find. plain box. wood candle holders.
Tip: use the candle holders for easy feet.
Everything looks better elevated. =)

Blue treasure:
A 1971 West coast Amtrack schedule.

My Monday project.
From this...

gathered up a floral sheet,
and a solid green already ruffled bed skirt...
(Like brand new at thrift store,
and perfect length for the chair.)

figured out a pattern....
(used the piece of fabric the bed skirt was attacked to.)

and made this.

sweet huh?
It's one of the new chairs for at my store.
We'll be serving "Tea & Treats" soon.
All in the works.

Here are some of the messes in the middle of the project:

moving shelves around.
(one fell over and broke to smithereens.)

Moving shelving around to use as a back support for a 'wall'.
The other side is storage for my now 1/2 size crafting room.
Hope it will be big enough!
(not teaching painting classes any more,
so do not really need 14' of tables.)

Wall partly done.
(my brother and sis in law helped sooo much!)

My brother being silly,
His normal self! =)

Have a wonderful Monday everyone,
and please go check out all the other posts at these special places.

Blessings

A matching vanity set, an extra little doily, and a book mark.

Some kind of little something holder with spoon. Jams?
And a silver turn something over piece.
For what??

I'm just learning about things as I go at the store.
You are all such a big help. =))

My last post I asked why my pics were only half as big when you click on then as they had been previously.

You can see that post for some of the answers.

But, Jackie, gave me the best news of all! (Maybe some of you knew this but I did not).
If you click once and it is half screen, then click again and it gets really big. I mean R E A L L Y BIG!
You can even see if I did not dust that day. =)

So, good news to all you crafters who are trying to see how I do things. Besides free tutorials on my side bar, now you can get giant economy size pics of my every day posts!!

Thanks all for coming by.

Oh, for those of you who have asked, I will be doing a tutorial on the Ps 139 jars soon. Just have to get to my craft table!!

In the middle of it all now!
Going into crafting withdrawal!!

Anyone know why? SOLVED!

Anyone know why sometimes the pictures get really big on the screen (when clicked on) and other times just get a little bigger?
I have not changed anything on my blog or pics.

I like for them to get really big so you can see details for crafting.

I loaded the top pics just so I have some pretties when you read, and to check to see how big they get.

blessings and thanks for the help.

Barbara Jean

(these two pics used to go full screen, and now I see only half screen.) ?? wonder why??

when I set my digital to a higher quality of pics the file is smaller to hold more images I guess.

I have reset my camera lately, so I think that is the problem solved. If on my tutorials the pics cannot be seen well enough, I will change my camera back.

thanks to all who tried to help.
