Flower Topped Gift

This works especially well for long rectangular,
or long cylindrical gifts.

Supplies
Tissue paper - 2 sheets
green tissue paper - Two 5" squares
scissors
tape
ribbon
gift

Lay your gift at the end of two sheets of tissue paper.
You want about 3" at end you fold and tape, and 4 or 5" at "flower" end.
(better too much than too little. It can be cut off if necessary).
Roll to the end and tape.

Other end, fold over like a regular package and tape.

Stand upright, and tie a ribbon loosely around it.
(squish it in gently with your fingers first.
That way it won't tear when you tie it).
Tie a knot or bow.

Making the rose:
Gently start pulling apart the layers of tissue.
Start at the outside and work your way
around till you reach the center.
You can kind of 'foof' it around now to make petals look nice.

Leaves:
Fold green square of tissue paper
in half to form a triangle.
Then fold two ends in to make above shape.

Kind of pinch and twist the ends of the leaf to make a point.
This is the base of the leaf.
Tape or glue leaves to base of rose.
(tape is quick if you are in a hurry,
and does not show once done.)

Here is the first one I did for a customer.
Just tuck white tissue in bag, put the gift in,
and 'foof' it all around a bit!

Unwrapping Gift
If your friend unwraps the gift carefully,
the rose can be saved and used again.



Have her tear or cut from bottom of package,

and up the side to within 2" of flower base.


When rose is off gift,
twist and tape end,

and put it in a 'vase', or lay in a dish
with doily or hanky wrapped around it.
Now your friend has received 2 gifts,
and you have greatly impressed the other party goers
with your crafty talents!

This is like any craft, and the first one takes more time.
After that they are really easy and quick to do.
