Beautiful sunsets....

(we stayed in a cabin, but not this one.) =)
A wonderful treasure my sweet fella found.
Yes, it is a paper wasps nest!!!
The bees were all gone.....
so it came home with us.
Look at the details in this side that was broken open.
That is layers and layers of 'paper', the bees make.
They gather fibers from dead wood and plant stems,
which they mix with saliva, and use to construct water-resistant
nests made of gray or brown papery material.
This nest is about 12" long and 8" across.
