Love and Baby Tags

A quick and easy project for you.
You know those little word cards we all love?
Here is an easy way to jazz them up a bit.

Just take your card, add a bit of lace, and trim,
dry brush around the edges, and, sweetness!
Below is another idea: a bit of music paper
background, corner trim, baby picutre and a bow.
These are very simple, but you could jazz them up more, too.
Oh, you say you do not have any of those little cards?
Have no tears, you can still do it!!
I went to Microsoft word. (you can use any program you can type into)
Type out the word you want, in the font you want.
Lay out several on a page, and print them off!
Wah lah!! Lots of sweet cards to play with!
(this is a copy of a layout sample to give an idea of what I mean)
I tried my hand at scanning but could not figure it out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And here are some new nests.
I found some great material on my walk a few days ago.
On the streets where there are huge maple leaves,
and cars have run over them, and it has rained,
over and over and over again,
the leaves get all mushed and stringy.
Perfect bird nest material.
I think these are my most real looking nests ever!
I'm planning to sell these just as they are,
for others to fluff up and put in their
favorite unique piece to display them.
Blessings and a Happy week to all!
Barbara Jean
Hi Barb!
I am glad you came by my blog, and I agree your nests are just a real as the Robin nest I found. I think you must be part bird! These sweet tags are wonderful too! Your very talented my friend.
I do not visit you near enough, I hope your Christmas was blessed and the coming year is all you expect it to be. How are your parents?
Our Christmas was quiet, we loved that it snowed....perfect. It makes you feel like a kid again. I wanted to drive all over and see it before the miracle melted. I took over 100 photos. The family got together the previous weekend in Nashville, different, but so nice.
Jo-Ann Coletti's magbook is worth every penny, it was a real labor of love. She is printing it herself too. My sister got it for me for Christmas, and next to the snow it is my favorite gift.
Remember the Fireside box the thread came in...I put it in a wagon by the fireplace with some pinecones etc..so sweet. I am still on the lookout for more thread btw.
Well on with breakfast!
Love
Marcie
You've outdone yourself....again! Wow! Love the tags - what a wonderful idea for those of us who adore typography!!!! As for your nests? Well Romeo is running around the computer monitor looking for the birds they belong to and told me to type this message for him ;) LOVE the birds nests! Romeo and I BOTH think they look real. He would tell you that but he's STILL busy looking for those birds.
Purrhaps, next time he'll remember his manners ;)
Have a great week Barbara!
Barbara, the nests DO look so REAL!! You're our nest making lady supreme!!
Lovely idea for the words! So often I don't think to use my pc for printing out things. Mainly because lately it hasn't wanted to print from my Word program and I need to learn how to use the newer one...time is my enemy! And...a dislike of learning new tech stuff! LOL!
Hugs,
Diane
