Beautiful Vanity Accessories?

I bought a bunch of these, whatever they ares,
cause they are such a pretty color.
I know some of them are powder boxes.
They are made of a plastic sort of stuff.
Anyone tell me about them?
Is this bake light?
See the one with $6.00 on it?
It looks like a shoe horn.

These all have some sort of buffing cloth on them.
What are they used for?

And these? Are they manicure tools?

So pretty, but......
Why do I buy these things that I do not even know what they are?

Maybe this is a letter opener?

Not sure, but look at tha beautiful pearl handle.
Do you think that is Mother of Pearl?

And what about this sweet little treasure?
I thought maybe a baby comb.
Different and unique isn't' it?

Update on Accessories:
from Tete @ Beyond the Garden Gate

Your pieces are celluloid. Google it and it will tell you all you need to know.
The buffers are for your shoes- to take the dust off of them and shine them up.
Baby comb for sure.
Manicure set, some for women and some for men. Little hook is a button hook.
Shoe horn is for ladies boots.
They are very old.
And yes- the letter opener is mother of pearl.
Celluloid was the first plastic.

Thanks Tete. Now we all know what they are.
Maybe I found a real treasure! =)

Now I know this is a fireplace set.

I just loved the ornateness of the tools....

And look at this base.
Hard to see, but it has beautiful details on it too.

Not much crafting going on right now, with taxes,
and changing the store around, but hoping you enjoyed my finds.
(I have managed to find time to SHOP!) =)

blessings and have a super week.

What a find! I have a celluloid manicure set from my Mother. The smaller buffers are for nails, they used them to shine them up...I think pre-polish days.

Love the fireplace tools and holder, so pretty!

I see you have your answer that they are celluloid...I have a beautiful set with little blue rhinestones that were my grandmothers. She was married in 1928 and I believe it was something she received then or around then, but not sure. They are treasure.

Hi Barb.....they are celluloid or also called "poor man's ivory". I have a beautiful collection of them as well as the buttery yellow color touches my heart. I have to disagree with Tete as the buffers were not for your shoes, rather were fingernail buffers to shine your nails without the use of polish by bringing the blood to the surface under the nail.Everything else is right on target....hope your got your jacket??? Please let me know.
