My Sweet Pink Prize is Here!! And a Christmas Memory.

Look at the beautiful ornaments I won!!

Mary, at Rose Brook Cottage made them.

Thank you Mary.
They are sooo beautiful!
(the picture does not do them justice at all!!)

(now if i can just keep my 3 granddaughters from making off with them!)

Beverly, Think this will be my newest favorite ornament!!
Thanks for hosting. =0))

Here are just a few more sweet and simple pinks for you.

A bookmark my Mom makes.
A vintage kleenex holder.

and some sweet vintage greeting cards.

Thought we were supposed to share a Christmas story again,
so since I already wrote it I'll leave it in.

I could not remember any more stories than the one I shared last week,

so I asked my Mom if she could remember any
of our Christmases from when we were young.

The only one she could remember was the year
she and Dad decided to charge our Christmas presents,
and buy everything on our lists!

Now you have to know, my parents rarely used a charge card.
If they could not afford to pay cash for something,
they did not buy it till they could.
When they did use it, they paid it off right away.

Anyway, Mom said they spent $200!
That was a lot of money for a low income family 50 years ago.
(oh my gosh!!! 50 years ago. That makes me feel old!)

So they spent the $200, and got everything we wanted.

Christmas morning, we unwrapped all our presents.
Then we said," is that all??"

My mom said she felt like smackin' us!!!

End of story.

(well, except that I still do not remember getting everything on my list) =0)

Now, there must be a moral to the story somewhere.
Maybe, don't buy all the things your kids
want cause they won't appreciate it anyway?

And the good lesson is not to use your credit card
unless you can pay it off when the bill comes.

That's all I can think of.
What about you?

Happy Pink Christmas Candy Cane Saturday!!!

I love your story, Barbara Jean, and although I don't have one of my own to share, I am going to ask my family this Christmas to share one of their favorite memories. Thanks for the conversation-starter!

Barb,
Love the story. I remember every year my Mother said, 'this is going to be a slim Christmas, Santa is broke this year'. My sister and I felt the dread in the pit of our tummys. But of course when Christmas morning came the pile was enormous. My mother loved to make us happy, even when times were tough. Lisa

Happy Pink Saturday Barbara Jean... What a wonderful story that is. So you got everything on your list, and you still weren't happy. Yep, we can never please kids. That is just the way they are. But what a beautiful memory for you.

Congrats on your win. I love the little candy canes you won. They are just beautiful. What a treasure, and you will have them each year to bring out and remember.

Great pink post as always. Please stop by and let me share my pink post with you.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

We don't need elaborate decorations or a big tree or numerous gifts under a tree. All any of us needs is to carry the spirit of Christmas in our hearts and to share it all year long with everyone we meet.

Thank you so much for sharing your blog with me today. Yes, I'm crazy about ♥PINK♥ but I'm also devoted to visiting some of the nicest blogs in cyberspace.

Hoping your weekend is filled with peace.

Oh that was funny and so true. How many time have you seen your youngins have more fun playing with the boxes than the gift. Happens every time. Happy Pink Saturday and a Blessed Christmas to your home, Mollye
