A Sweet & Simple Project

This is what my daughter made me for Mother's Day.
It is just so simple I had to show you.
Framed scrapbook paper, a dried flower,
and dry erase board pen.
You can write on the glass and just wipe off when done.
Is that great?

There are numbers on the bottom edge too.

Flea Market find, this great old pocket watch.
I guess you know by now of my love (addiction to?) old watches.

and prints lately.

I especially love this one.

Such beautifully soft colors.

This package of Fritos makes me smile.

Why? My daughter bought it and gave it to me for a treat.
So, I eat a couple at a time, and each time
I see it in the cupboard, I smile, cause it makes
me feel loved that she brought it.
I think I will save the bag even after the Fritos are gone.

Isn't this a lovely photo?
Not sure why pic turned out so hazy.
It is a huge enlargement and a bit hazy anyway,
but this photo makes it look worse.

I took this pic the same time and room as the photo above.
Doesn't it almost look like a drawing?
Like it is not real?
This will be in the new room when it is finished.

2 1/2 yards for 37 cents.
Like brand new.
Here is a great idea for an address marker.
A wonderful old cross.
And I may have already showed you this,
but just in case, here it is again.

Beautiful Vintage Books

I have found some real treasures in the book department lately.
These two top pictures are of the case 1 set came in.
Remembrance of Things Past by
Marcel Proust (1932 copyright).

The 2 book set is a composite of 7 novels, and although there
is not even 1 picutre in these books,
the case is gorgeous!
Price on line: $15-60!!!

This two book set of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights
(1943 by Emily Bronte)
came in the original case also.
These have wild, but beautifully done wood engravings
by Fritz Eichenberg.
I looked these books up on line, and they were from
$50-300!!!!!
Can you believe it?? I was shocked!
That is a lot to pay for a book.

I got these books at a living estate sale, and these were
found in the back of the ladies closet.
She loved to read, but these had been put in the back
years ago and forgotten.

They are all in excellent condition.
What a treat to find them.
I will enjoy having them till someone else comes
along to take them home.

Lace, Leather, Lanterns, and Black Shoes

Here are a few little goodies from 2 weeks ago.
'New' books, and 2 spools of 1/4" leather 'strapping".
(is that what you call it??? or is it lacing?)
A HUGE roll of this light bluish green sheer lace.
It is about 5" across!!!

Beautiful 4" delicate lace.
Wonder how many yards are on it??

Two new lanterns

And some cute little Black Shoes.
Look at those tattered toes!

These are not real shoes, but resin I think.
Aren't they great though??

And, found tons of new and wonderful 'treasures'
the past two weekends.
Will get photos and get them posted.

To those who continue to visit even though I have not
been posting as much, many thanks.
I've spent most of my time and energy getting
a new room at store ready to open.
Almost done!!!
