In weather like this:

Yep, we had just a nice little snow storm this morning,
and although the snow was all melted,
it was still nippy cold out there on the porch.

But being spontaneous is part of what makes life fun, isn't it?
Even if it is just pretending to have tea outside. =)

Can you think of some spontaneous fun to have?

Old Glasses

I love old wire rimmed glasses,
but, they are hard to find, for a price I am willing to pay.


Years ago, I made miniatures.
The picutre above is one of the little tiny glasses I made.
They are only about 1" across. no glass, but who would notice..
So I thought, why can't I do that only larger?

So I did.
And here they are in a vignette.

(Did not cut enough wire, so no ear pieces.)
But I have seen real ones that did not have any either.

If you saw these in a vignette and did not know
they were not real, would you notice?

And how about a silver pair?
And, did you notice that perfect leaf skeleton
in front of the letters?
My sweet fella found it while out walking.

Not perfect, but I'm working on it. =)

Beautiful Bottle

Betty Jean at

has done up some of my tea bag roses

and put them on an altered bottle.

What makes these things so pricey?

I bought a big of 'goodies' at a sale.
In the bag were these items.
Now, I admit I do not know much about antiques,
but I'm slowly learning since I have the store.
What I do not understand is how any of these things
can be worth what is priced on them.

See the compasses in the top picture?

Now look at the prices!
That one compass in the back has $30 on it!!!
My word, is it made of gold???

And in the top picture, do you see that red piece with the car on it?
And that silver square with the design on it?

They must really be special.

I'm thinking that pin must be real silver for that price.

or this little metal piece.
maybe off a car??
$15.00???

This punch for a milk can is rather unusual.

And look at this.
It is an opener from the Fulton Park Dairy
in Hillsdale Oregon.

And look at how ornate the back is? Love it.

And here is a sweet sewing accessory.
Inside the little 'vial' is a place for needles.
The inside holds little rolls of thread,
and the thimble fits on top.
$9.50 for it.

OK, if there are nay experts on any of these things,
I'd sure like to understand what the deal is.

In the meantime, I guess I got a great deal
on a little bag of goodies, and they will
be a whole lot less in my little store.
