Pink SATURDAY: Little pink feet, and new friends

No, these are not the little pink feet,
or new blog friends,
but know all you who are still getting snow
would love to see more flowers.

My sweet fella and i take our three oldest
granddaughters to dinner occasionally.
On the way to the rest room before we left,
were there 3 sets of legs in front of me.
I did not get that pic. but
did have them stop long enough to get these.

The top pic is Camille, almost 16, and a delightful young lady.
(she is watching the store for a
couple hours while grandpa and I go to the big garage sale at the fairgrounds tomorrow.

This is Isabel. Almost 10.
She has the longest legs, and the sweetest smile.
If ever in a contest, she would win
miss congeniality.
(can you see here this pic was taken?)

And this is our little Ava, almost 6.
She used to have regular meltdowns, and getting a hug or kiss
from her was almost impossible!
She has sooo mellowed out now, and so free with her affection.
One thing good about having not had many kisses or hugs when she was younger,
is that now they are REALLY special!

Frugal Spring Trim, New Nests, & Crafting Tip

Sweet Spring ribbons made of torn fabric strips, and a 'Spring' stamp.
How easy is that?

Fun to enclose in a card or gift,
or just sit around and look cute and cheery.

I had a great time getting some creating done this week.


One of a kind nest in glass lantern.
Sitting on shredded paper and little pieces of mossy limbs.
Real feathers in the nest,
and a little pearl trims the lantern.
A perfect finish.

Display it open or closed.

Another new nest.
This one is in a coin purse.
Took me forever to find one, but I love it!
(anyone have some they want to get rid of??)

Sweet little tag, and the egg is painted to match the colors in the purse.

New mini box.

And more.

More mini boxes with my teabag roses.

Like the pearl added?

Here is my tip for doing it.
I use hot glue.
They are tiny to hold on to, and maybe no tweezers or pliers around?
Try putting the pearl on a small piece of wire.
Can be a pin, needle, or even paper clip if hole is big enough.
Keep it at the end of the sire.
Dab the hot glue on, or whatever glue you use,
and drop it onto the project.
No glue gun burns, or messy fingers.

Totally Frugal!

Even my Granddaughter has learned to be thrifty.
While we were cleaning, she thought this feather duster
needed to be thrown away,
and then she said,
"Unless you want to us it to feather one of your nests!!"
Is that great or what?
(Hope she does not see this picture of herself.
I made her laugh. Not her best pic ever). =)

Our son turned 40 the 17th.
Tonight was our birthday dinner for him.
His sister had a great idea, and we helped pay for it.
Bunches of 40 things.
She is so very creative, and not much spent on some of this.

40 pistachios- tough nuts to crack.

40 prunes (they gave these to me!!) =0/

40 jokes about turning 40

And the gift really was these 40 scratch it tickets.
(not a usual purchase, but perfect for him.)

And you can do this for any age.
Didn't she do a great job?

White Cards, Red Flowers, and a Little Green Frog

Hi Froggy!

We were moving some lumber
around in the yard and saw this little guy.

And here is another one.
Can you see him??

This is a pot from my brothers garden.

It broke in the freeze,
and it was totally root bound.

Looks like it is still in a pot, but those are roots.

And these, although they look pink,
are actually deep red primroses my sweet fella
bought and surprised me with.

And here are some red goodies from a box of treasures i bought.
Anyone know what the 'junket' tablets are?

And this can is still full of salve.
Probably best I could not get it open.

I've been cleaning at the store, and found a box of old cards
I did years ago.
These are pen and inks.

I had more pictures of cards, but could
not get them to turn right side up.
I'll try another time.
